Personal Perception

The Memorial to the murdered Jews of Europe in Berlin during wintertime. The memorial for the 6 million Jews was designed by architect Peter Eisenmann. It consists of 2711 concrete slabs of heights varying from 0.2 and 4.8 meters (8 in to 15 ft 9 in). The stelae are designed to produce an uneasy, confusing atmosphere, and the whole sculpture aims to represent a supposedly ordered system that has lost touch with human reason.

Underground of the 19000 square meter installation there is a “place of information” that holds all the known names of the holocaust victims.
