TIME IS THE MOST PRECIOUS COMMODITY

The times I have promised myself that I would make time to sit down and continue with my Blog. However, with the best will the world, there is only just so much time in the day. And if you are a) an insomniac. b) a main carer for your beloved. c) a semi-retired -‘Everything’ – it gets difficult to say the least.

But I am going to try. I have found a new extension to my wildlife photography since I last posted. The Garden at Night! We only have a small garden, by choice, but Ido try and legit go as wilds possible. And recently I found that whilst I was out there at night, waiting for Rosie (or mini-dahshund) to do her business, if I took a small but powerful torch with me,I could enter into a whole new world of activity, with MY insects, in our garden.

It has become a great learning curve for me and intend to start posting some of the more interesting pics here on this blog.

This little feller is the larva of the Harlequin Ladybird.

This is the first pic, hopefully I will be posting more later.

  1. I think he’s cute … in your photo, of course. haha
I hope you get some more shots of it as it changes. It was nice to see you in my e mail notices. Unfortunately, I’m a nit behind due to time myself. BUT … better late than never. Welcome back … I hope you have more time to blog. I always enjoy your posts.

  2. Bugs are fascinating – something I look out for and know little about. There don’t seem to be the organised flow chart type identification sites online and I end up ploughing through a book looking for anything similar.

    1. I know what you mean Bob, I have terrible trouble sometimes. I have become a member of the Amateur Entomologists Society which has helped, it also gives me access to the Royal Entomologist Society’s library, although I have taken advantage of that opportunity yet.

  3. Like me Mark, no time to blog unless you make time. I’ve not written mine up for ages. This is good…. Nice to see you blogging again though.

  4. Nighttime photography can be very exciting,Mark! You need to be a little careful where you do it, though; your back garden should be safe enough. Before long you might find that you have a torch strapped to your head, another to your camera, and a third on a lanyard around your wrist. I look forward to you images.
